Who is responsible for your data

SisterLink CIC is the Data Controller for all personal information you provide through this form. We are a Community Interest Company registered in England and Wales (Company No. 17021413).

We process your data in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. We are committed to handling your information with care, confidentiality, and integrity, and will never share your data unnecessarily.

What information we collect and why

We collect only what is necessary to provide you with support. This may include your name, contact details, location, family circumstances, and details of your situation. Where relevant to your support, we may also collect special category data such as health, mental health, faith-related information, or other sensitive personal information. We will always explain why we are asking for specific information before collecting it.

⚠️ Safeguarding exception: In situations where there is a serious risk of harm to you or a child, we may be legally required to share information with statutory agencies (such as social services or the police) without your consent. We will always try to speak with you first unless doing so would put someone at risk.

Storing and using my personal information *

I consent to SisterLink CIC collecting, securely storing, and using my personal information for the sole purpose of providing me with support services in accordance with UK GDPR.

Being contacted by SisterLink *

I consent to SisterLink contacting me via my preferred contact method to arrange and provide support services.

Referrals to partner organisations *

I consent to SisterLink sharing my contact details and relevant case information with partner organisations to facilitate referrals on my behalf. This is a core part of our service and includes (but is not limited to) legal services, housing support, therapy providers, well-being practitioners, home maintenance or DIY assistance, and home care or domestic support services. I understand that I will be informed before any referral is made and can opt-out of specific referrals at any time.

Case notes and record keeping *

I consent to SisterLink maintaining a confidential case record of the support provided to me. This record is accessible only to authorised SisterLink staff and volunteers and is kept secure in accordance with UK GDPR.

Anonymous data for reporting

I consent to my anonymised, non-identifiable information being used in aggregated reports to help SisterLink understand need and improve services. No identifying details will ever be shared externally.

Explicit Consent: Special Category Data *

I give my explicit consent for SisterLink to collect and process sensitive information (Special Category Data) such as my health status, mental health, religious beliefs, or ethnic origin, where this is necessary to provide me with appropriate support. I understand this data is subject to enhanced security and confidentiality.
